Bringing back the blog - Knot My Earth Omegaverse writing update
If you’re already subbed to my newsletter, you’re going to get a little overlap here. General updates and maybe some quotes/snippets from my WIPs. If you are not subbed to my newsletter and you want more than what my blog offers, like sneak peeks at full chapters and chances to win a signed paperback and swag, make sure you do subscribe (download any of my freebies to subscribe to my newsletter!)
Until then, here is my latest update on my omegaverse series!
Embracing the creative process isn't always easy. Especially when it isn't fast.
I'm making decent progress on RESCUED (working title for book 2 of Knot My Earth, omegaverse series) Current total word count is over 15K words. For reference, MATCHED (KME, Book 1) is just over 30K finished.
You might say, "Anastasia, you're halfway there!"
Nope! Because I'm letting my creativity off the leash, my characters have had more freedom to wander and I would say I'm maybe a third of the way done with the first draft. But even that's being generous because a couple of scenes are just placeholder text, not fleshed out prose of any kind. I should probably be closer to 20K.
That brings me to the good news and bad news...
The bad news is this draft is taking a lot longer to finish than I had hoped, after the significant progress I made on it a few weeks ago. The good news is that this book is going to be longer and give you a much more immersive experience! These characters explore new relationship dynamics, pack politics, human vs. Throkyn morality and the gray areas of both. It has been a lot of fun to write and it's going to be even more fun to read! I sit down to write and wish it was already written because I want to read it so badly!
I wanted to share a teaser or snippet with you but there is a significant twist at the end of chapter 3 that I don't know if I want to spoil. At least, not yet. I think it's a reveal best saved for closer to publication.
In the meantime, you can read the prequel and book 1!
As always, thank you for being here!
I appreciate every single one of you!
